Why Nikon ViewNX images look so different from other programs that I use softer?

I have for my Nikon Nikon ViewNX D60. When I load the images coming out …. But fine if I open the same files in other programs (eg Arcsoftimpressions / Canon Digital photos Pro / Windows Vista Image Viewer), the images are more vivid and clear, and the quest sooo much better than the Nikon software. I'm not sure if it can could be the configuration or something else.

Is your monitor calibrated? Not by any program that uses the eye as a screening device, but as a Spyder colorimeter One or eyes should not be a new, none of the older models will be adjusted. Without calibrated monitor is not clear how the monitor is the interpretation of data in the image file. Perhaps because ViewNX is open Nikon raw files, without the amendments applied, but the others look Jpeg converted, in which the sharpness and saturation been adjusted. Just a hypothesis. Chris
